Wednesday July 28, 2021, Antigua and Barbuda: Applications are now open for three nationals of Antigua and Barbuda to each receive a full two-year scholarship to the Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute/ABHTI, compliments of the Antigua & Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association/ABHTA.

The ABHTA postponed Scholarship Awards in 2020 and are delighted to have a return of this valuable offer to aspiring hospitality professionals across the twin island state. Persons applying for the scholarship must be pursuing an Associate Degree in Resort Management, Tourism Management, or Hospitality Management.

The following are required for all applicants:
• Completion of an application form online here. Application Forms may also be collected from the office of the ABHTA at the Island House building on Newgate Street
• Submit 1,000-word essay, “What Tourism Means to Me”
• 2 passport sized photos
• Profile Bio or Resume
• Proof of Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship
• 5 CXC certification subjects (with passes in English and Mathematics)

Jeffers Snr, Executive Chairman of the ABHTA in addressing the return of the scholarship awards in 2021 remarked that “Our industry is facing its toughest time yet, however it is the resilience and strength of our people that continues to take us through these unprecedented times. Funding of the scholarship awards is made possible through the Tourism Development Fund/TDF and the properties that contribute to the fund – Blue Waters Resort & Spa, Galley Bay Resort & Spa, Curtain Bluff, Jumby Bay Island and Hermitage Bay.
