TASTE OF WADADLI, SET TO WOW YOUR TASTE BUDS AND ENTERTAIN YOUR SPIRIT

An inaugural street fair designed as a charitable event in aid of Scholarships to the Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute (ABHTI)

Friday November 15, 2019, St. John’s Antigua: On December 9, 2019, St. Mary’s Street will come ALIVE from 12:00 – 8:00pm in the inaugural event themed Taste of Wadadli – Our Food, Our Culture, Our Home. Resort Chefs will celebrate a diverse range of foods highlighting our local ingredients. Local Artisans will showcase products ranging from jewelry, crafts to art.  The street will also come alive with entertainers presenting our culture and the unique talents of our Antiguan and Barbuda people. It will be a time for the whole family to roll up their sleeves and enjoy a day full of food, culture and entertainment.

According to Vernon A. Jeffers, Sr., Chairman of the Antigua and Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) “there will be something there for everyone”.

The chairman further stated that “This Inaugural event will gather together Top Hotels and Restaurants and it’s all for a cause! All profits from the event will go towards offering Scholarships for aspiring hospitality professionals to seek their first degree at the Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute. I would like to recognize our top sponsors whose Chef’s will be on display- Sugar Ridge, the Elite Island Resorts (Hammock Cove, The Verandah, Pineapple Beach Club, St. James’ Club and Galley Bay), Curtain Bluff, Ocean Point Beach Club, Ana’s on the Beach and Siboney Beach Club”

A full entertainment schedule is planned with cultural presentations from the Shiva’s School of Dance and drama teams, Stilt Walkers, Sensei dancers, Calypso Joe, The Spirited Band, the Panache Steel Orchestra and Asher Otto and Itchy Feet.

Local Artisans also on display will include, Eat me Gourmet, Toast, Oh Edibles! Eddie’s Succulent Gardens, Tranquil designz, The Ark, 268 Engravers, K W Posh designs and so much more.

Taste of Wadadli will be hosted by Patrice Martin and Steve “Ibis” Freeland and promises to be a wonderful afternoon of food fun and culture.
