Antigua and Barbuda, January 15 2025 – The Antigua Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) proudly features Amber Hazelwood in its Unveiling Hospitality Professional series. With over 30 years of experience, Amber exemplifies dedication and excellence in hospitality.
Amber began her career in October 1991 at Pineapple Beach Club Antigua as a busser. Her passion and adaptability quickly led to promotions, eventually becoming Restaurant Supervisor, where she oversaw the opening of the renowned Pineapple Grill Restaurant.
In 1998, during the resort’s rebranding to Allegro Occidental Grand Pineapple Beach Club, Amber advanced to Front Office Supervisor, expanding her responsibilities to include managing the gift shop. She later became Front Office Manager in 2006 when the resort transitioned to Grand Pineapple Beach by Sandals Resorts International. Her focus was delivering exceptional guest experiences and fostering a welcoming environment.
After a stint as Diamond Club Assistant at Royalton Antigua, Amber returned to Pineapple Beach Club. In March 2024, she was promoted to Rooms Division Manager, overseeing key operational departments and continuing to enhance guest satisfaction.
Beyond her professional achievements, Amber is deeply committed to inspiring young people to explore the diverse career opportunities in the hospitality industry. She emphasizes the urgent need for fresh talent to rejuvenate the sector that plays a vital role in Antigua and Barbuda’s economy. She underscores the need for young people who are motivated and passionate to bring their energy and creativity into this field to help shape their future.
